Fairly new GN3 user: I have looked around but could not find any way to turn down the annoying very LOUD AT&T start up sound chime every time I turn on my GN3
I am sure it is something simple to be able to turn down or mute it but I guess I am missing it :(

Any help would be appreciated - Thanks

Hello

Are you talking about the AT & T sound/screen during the bootup of your device? If so then no you can't do anything about that " stock ". Your device would need to be rooted to modify that.

I would assume (if available) that it would be under Settings > Sounds but i honestly forget what the default TW menus have (I have a custom ROM on my Note 3).

I use the app "silent boot" from the play store to silence boot up sound. This app doesn't require root. I haven't tried it on an att variant but it worked on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

You don't have to root it to get rid of the sound. Settings - Device - Sound - Volume - System (turn that down) and then when you reboot you won't here that sound.

Silent Boot didn't work for my Note 3 from AT&T. Even with the first TWO boxes checked. Neither did the Volumn > System.

The boot chime on my Note 3 changed this AM. I haven't changed anything. Could this be part of the KitKat upgrade?

What else does silencing "system" silence besides the ATT boot music?

Re: Annoying LOUD AT&T start up sound

My new AT&T N3 worked perfectly with silent boot? I wonder what the difference is

Silent Boot was the answer for my HTC One X plus. (Android 4.2.2)
First of all it didn't work but then I turned off the Fast Boot option (Settings...Power...Fast boot) and it worked fine with only the first option ticked.

Thanks for the Silent Boot app tip, that is what I was looking for. I don't mind the death star but come on, pay up to Disney to get the music to go with it.
