A buddy sent me this link of a youtube video and it shows how to remove the screen effects and get developer options that make the phone lag it really does run a lot faster.

Good stuff.. Sure this is a work around but same time S4 owners shouldn't have to resort to disabling features to clear up lag. The phone has more than enough RAM and horsepower under the hood to be running lag free.

I hope to see Sammy address this in some sort of update to optimize things better.

While this is helpful, it doesn't "fix" the lag within. There is lag throughout the entire phone in apps too. The lag is not bad, but noticeable. I hope its soon. Once the software is properly optimized the phone will be amazing.

For those experiencing lag from the lockscreen, if you deliberately swipe making full contact completely from one side to another, the phone unlocks without lag. Early adopters should be accustomed to some issues and are helpful in directing bug fixes by the manufacturer.

Turn off all animations in developer options and go to apps all and disable the apps ya don't use. Plus its always good to do a hard reset once ya buy a phone. I hv absolutely no lag from lock screen to the market and to my apps

Doesn't make sense to do a hard reset on a phone that has never been turned on. It's just another myth.

Disabling animations sure did help a lot. Samsung needs to quit focusing on useless features and make sure there phone is up to the performance the hardware is capable off. I don't see HTC one having any problems and I used my friends, HTC decided to cut the clutter and it clearly shows.

Another fix for the lag is well....an OTA update that took care of the issue on May 8th for AT&T customers. This thread is a bit older though so maybe you all have already figured this out. The animation screen speed did help a bit but the update took care of much more in regards to lag.
