lost my applications icon all i have is a phone icon

i have had samsung infuse 4g for 2 months the battery life terrible i had to delete applications thats wher i ran into trouble,i don't have the APPLICATIONS icon anymore on the bottom of the screen, instead with gingerbread there some neat features but i can't access my applications which i no are still there cause i can go into google search and do say dropbox and access that way .please anyone greatly appreciate it, i already went to att, plus on the phone with them bunch of times. this phone could be great but the battery dies so fast the games are useless and to play music forget,i had it two mnths and they wanna give me a refurbished phone.what to do what to do. i try to minimize my apps i thinki had to many which was killing the phone but still i did everthing i was told and its terrible. thanks alot getting the applications icon back would help for a start i'm ready to sell the phone

the long press on the home button worked for me ....cheers mate
