Samsung Captivate Sideloading Issue

Just when I thought Att was turning the page, they lost my faith again. Here's what happened: att rolled out their sideloading update and I was loving it. Then I did an application restore on my Captivate and now installations are blocked. I've tried calling both att and Samsung to from the update pushed to my phone again, but they don't seem to have any idea what I'm talking about. So does anyone know a solution to this problem or am I just screwed until I get am infuse?
