I am looking to replace my very ageing Palm |T3 (with its whopping 64 Mb memory!) with the galaxy Note 10.1, largely because I can carry on writing.
I have used and still daily use Dataviz Smart List To Go on the Palm, even though Dataviz hasn't produced it for a while. It syncs perfectly with my MS Access database, from which I send out editorial reports on articles I edit. It saves me loads of time because I have set up all my tables and forms on the Palm such that I don't actually have to write much in the report, it is all selected by forms.
I see there are plenty of office apps, games, PIMs etc. for Android. Why does nobody seem to be working on database applications? Is Android really such a poor basis for developing professional tools? It is a major block to me making the jump before being pushed to do so because my Palm finally dies. This is a major part of my work process. Is there nothing to cover this function?
(How hard is it to learn programming for Android?)
