1-year contract on the X

Here is the page for the Droid Incredible, on the right you can select 2, 1, or no contract and see the price. $270 for 1 year is a great deal for those of you who want to be able to upgrade every year with no issues.

Yea, I'm definitely doing this. For a person like me who is always wanting the newest phones, $70 is not bad at all considering the convenience of being able to upgrade after only a year. This way I'll be able to hop onto the Droid X2 train next year

I don't think the X is up for order yet, so it may be more than the $70 it is for the Inc. I was just linking that for reference.

I understand, but Verizon usually makes these prices pretty standard across the line. I don't see any real reason from a business standpoint to make it much higher. Unless they're afraid of people leaving Verion after 1 year so they're locking people in for two.

If you're on a 49.99 or higher base plan on an individual line or the primary line on a family plan, you're pretty much wasting the extra money by going with a 1 yr contract as you'd be eligible for a annual upgrade at the 1 yr mark of a 2 yr contract.

I will probably consider doing this on my next phone as well. I'm eligible for an upgrade in 2011 so no subsidized phone for me .

Ditto I do it all of the time b/c I'm the primary line, so you're wasting more money and time with a 1 year if you meet the criteria stated above.

Hmmmmm, didn't know this. So I'm on the $59 900 minute plan and I'm the only line. I signed up sometime last year. So you're saying I'm eligible for the 1 year upgrade?

1 year plan still has the advantage of being able to switch carriers if it comes down to that.
