1+ Year Later the S8 Active is still FULL Retail Price! WHY???

Any reason for this? Is it because the S9 Active is scrapped?

From the bad reviews (terrible mic, easily scratched screen, breaking from minimal height drops, etc).... Is the S8 Active even worth purchasing???

The Active series has always been a weird one and only 'worth it' if you REALLY need the rugged version sans-case. It's not on sale because people are still buying it at full price or they're trying to deter people from getting it and going for the newer flavors.

Most will just go for the standard version with a rugged case and call it a day (which is why, sales-wise, they probably end up scrapping the Active line for good). It's all about supply and demand. Give people what they want...as long as enough of them are willing to buy.

Yes, it seems be due to no new S9 active. The minimal spec difference between the S8 and 9 and the lower sales volume of an active phone is likely why they are still full price.I think they will skip the S9 and bring the new active out with their next flagship line.
In the mean time NO ONE has a battery that exceeds the S8 active. At the end of a full biz day at bedtime. I still have 75% left. No one can come close to durability. And it's functions is till very up to date for all practical purposes.Last but not least there are many who actually get their hands dirty,wet,greasy for a living. This phone is a godsend. Buy it now. They will run out and you will likely not a new version for 1-2 years.
The screen was easily scratched because of a plastic coating applied to the Gorilla glass to make it resistant to breakage. Easily solved I applied a $7 glass laminate off amazon. No scratches.Anyone who talks about breakage from normal heights isn't being honest. Not uncommon with phone reviews. You know Apple "fan boys" vs Android "fan boys".

Thanks for your honest review. I just purchased it from Samsung direct. Surprisingly it's back ordered for 7-10 days but I can wait. I preferred it over the Note 9 which is to big and fragile. I like manly phones so the S8 Active made sense.
