If Sprint keeps nickel and diming they won't be any cheap
Well, I can say I'm happy with Sprint and their prices. I'm also going to be in an area that should receive 4G soon. I dunno, I think people are making a big deal about the $10 tax. I think its crappy, yes. Especially when Dan Hesse said it would be cheaper per MB than 3G is. The reality is, they need to build a network, and since they haven't been gaining enough customers, to get a 4G phone, you're going to have to fork out the money first so you can hope to have a 4G network. I know its for unlimited data, and in reality, we all have unlimited data. If you want the phone, pay the tax, if not, there are crappy Palm Pre's and Samsung Intercepts for you to buy that don't cost the extra dough, just don't expect the world when they produce you piss-poor service... remember, you paid for that.
I was against the 4G, but now I'm numb to the idea and willing to pay it. There is also a chance the fee will be dropped in the future, just like the 3G fee was dropped in the past. Yes, you're plan will go up $240 over 2 years, still less than ATT and gives you better service and no panic attacks about how much data you've used.
Word is they are dropping discounts on additional lines too starting 8/1
Right, cause VZW and ATT don't do that. T-Mobile also doesn't allow 1 yr contracts anymore.
sure are...as well as the discount as applied to additional services
I'm on a old F&C retention plan and I get 20% off against my 10$ additional line , 20$ unlimited text fee and 10$ data charge right now....that all ends 8/1
however this change allows folks affected by this to get their ETF waived...but this *does not* reset your upgrade/150$ discount period....
all in all, good timing, because my contract is up 10/1 ... being a 8 yr customer, I figure I can get tele-sales to let me renew to a unlimited plan, grab the Epic a couple of months early as they prob would love to see me get off this retention plan...
That has nothing to do with the point that it is ****ty. Sprint is supposed to trying to gain customers, not be like the competition(which is whooping the **** out of them)
All of t-mobile's plans now come with the no contract option. You get the same, but pay less. The catch is no phone subsidies! I'm actually trying to convince my gf to switch from ATT to t-mobile b/c of this since she doesn't want to leave her iphone.
