Happy to report that I just received a tracking number.
All is right with the world. Guess Google wasn't asleep at the wheel after all.
Kind of funny that even at 60 y.o,. I'm as impatient as a kid waiting for Christmas. :)

Really looking forward to this new tablet.

Jims52 when exactly did you order?

Dude I've called a million times.. they don't have any info to give me and they blame it on "Everyone hit the order button at the same time so our system is the problem"

I'm sorry, that actually seems very impossible. Perhaps if you had stated as much in your initial post, I wouldn't have responded in that manner.

if you're as short with them as you're seeming to be here, they probably don't want to help you. it's true that the person who answers the phone has feelings, and you can hurt them by being curt.

If you have an order number in your google wallet, they have you in their system and CAN find it. If they say not, see above. Here's a recommendation:

write down your order number, call their number, when the person introduces his/herself to you, say "hello *insert name*, how are you today?". This always puts the person at ease, and they will do more to try and help you.

If they can't find your order via your email address, that's fine, they can find it via the order number, if for some reason they can't find it via the order number, ask to speak to the floor supervisor, or someone that can tell you more than "our systems suck" because their systems don't suck, they are over-burdened, but it's not going to charge your credit card, then disappear. it just doesn't work that way.

If everything fails, give the floor supervisor some time to figure out what's going on, make sure he has your number, and make sure he understands that if this isn't resolved soon, you will contact your credit card company and ask them to stop payment. and move on.

frankly, complaining on a forum will do you absolutely no good, other than possibly finding others who are in a similar situation (or have been in a similar situation) to commiserate with.

I've called the google number a few times for various devices, every time I've been treated well, and I've never gotten a "we can't find you, call back later" response, but I suspect that's because I do my best to put them at ease, rather than starting off on the wrong foot with someone who has absolutely no control over the situation you're in, and likely just got off the phone with someone else who ed at them because their phone didn't ship.
