[17/FEB/21] AUB9 update for Global S21 Ultra, bugfix & camera update

Hot on the heels of the AUB8 release for the S21 5G and S21+, it is the turn of the S21 Ultra to receive some more of Samsung's love.

This latest update is the 6th for the Global, Exynos, S21 Ultra, SM-G998B, and is its 3rd February update and is currently being rolled out by Samsung.

It would appear, like its two companion devices, that this is a bugfix for the previous release, AUB6, as well as a camera update.

The Galaxy S21 Global, Exynos, device that will receive this update is...

This latest release replaces the G99*BXXU1AUB6 February build.

Initially, as always, this is rolling out to the non-carrier branded, stock Samsung CSC codes first.

It is a FOTA, (Firmware Over The Air), update and you can check... Settings > Software update... to see if it is available for you

Build date = 15 February 2021

Release date = 17 February 2021

Camera version = 11.0.02.58

One UI version = 3.1

Android Security patch = February 2021

This is the 6th stable update in 21 days

This is rapidly becoming a full time job, keeping up with all the February updates for the Global, Exynos, S21 devices. It would seem that Samsung are determined to sort out any issues a.s.a.p.


Perhaps they should have stuck to their March release date for the S21's.

No sign of it yet for me. I only just got the last one a couple of days ago. So far I like that updates are coming. I do t have many issues with my phone but its good to know they are on top of things.

Only had it for 7 hours but this third of the February updates for the global S21 Ultra is not disappointing me although, in fairness, I did not have any real issues with the other two.

Strange that this AUB9 release is only for the S21 Ultra when all three S21 devices have been on the same firmware until now.

Getting good benchmark scores and after 20 min's of the 3DMARK Wild Life Stress Test my CPU temperature was only 38C/100F.

Camera is snappier. In fact, using the double Power key press it opens almost instantaneously. Auto focus seems quicker. Since I am of the, "Happy Snapper", variety, I cannot go into more detail. I have read that this release improves the grainy low light shots from previous versions.

Obviously, it is too soon to comment on battery life until I have completed at least a couple of charge/discharge cycles but I hope to get my usual 26-27 hours between charges and around 7-8 hours SoT.

I am guessing that this AUB9 update will be the last for global Exynos, S21 Ultra as it is also being released to the carrier branded branded models as well.

Agree on the double click to open camera. It's way faster!
