Hey everyone,

I have tried to do the 2.1 leak for my Eris a few times, but I can not get it to work. I am not great with computers, but I thought I would be smart enough to do this....apparently not.

Every time I try to download the zip file I get this error...."start of central directory not found; zip file corrupt. Possible cause; file transfer error." Or "cannot open file; it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading it again."

Please help, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Well i dont know if you tried like it says but downloading the file again, maybe try it from a different location

I've tried a few times. Do I need to open the file with something, or save it? I have tried it both ways with no luck.

It is very frustrating, especially since I am sure it is my fault.

gregba, easiest thing to do is save the file to your PC desktop. No need to open the file. From there, plug in your phone and transfer the zip file onto the "root" folder of your SD card. Once it's on the card, proceed to boot the phone (vol down/pwr keys). Upon boot completion, you should see a blue progress bar near top right of screen.

I'm betting the file got corrupted during the download. Happened to me a few times.

Thanks. Does this mean I have to root my phone in order to get the leak?

I have tried downloading it numerous times, it has always been corrupted. IS anyone able to email me the file?

Thanks again!

No, you do not have to root in order to install the update. However, once you install
V2, you will loose root access.

Check your private messages, I sent you a link.

I got the link, thanks for that. That is the same link I tried at home and I tried it on my work CPU too and it still said the file was corrupt. Would you be able to email me the file?
