Its an installable apk (like an app you would download from the market). Not sure, in the worst case you could just delete it.

I'm not and I got it running.
Download the file and rename it Gallery3D.apk and it should install.

Nice..not only does it work, but it actually has been setting my wallpapers now. With the old one, it wasn't saving my wallpaper's that I'd set and creating a new filename with the cropped image but not setting it.. seems to be working now.

I noticed that too.

"Gallery could not be installed on this phone" using a Rooted MyTouch3G. I think you need to be on eclair to install it.

Is pinch zoom working for anyone in maps. I know it's not supposed to work on the browser but I though it was supposed to be working in maps.

Haven't pushed it cause it breaks stuff. Seems like its working fine for everyone else though.

Yea, the gallery is kinda buggy. Goes to black screen and takes me back to home screen. Maybe I'll uninstall and wait for official 2.1 release.

Really the Gallery seems to be working great for me?

It seems when I'm flipping through pictures it will lock up for a second then go black and take me to the home screen.

I went through my pics about 5 times and it didn't happen once. Guess I got a good download.

I cant get it to work. I renamed it and my PC didnt recognize it anymore and dropped it on my phone and my phone didnt even see it. Any tips?

Gallery seems to be working great for me too. One question though.

I heard the new gallery links to Picasa and you can view your Picasa images within the Gallery. So after installing the new gallery I got a notification asking me to verify my picasa account. I did so but no where in the gallery do I see a Picasa album.

The only thing I see for Picasa is that you can upload your photos to it.

Any ideas or did I just hear the wrong thing here?

Flashed my MyTouch3G with an eclair based rom and was able to install it. Only problem was, it was too laggy to do anything on it.

the picasa albums do sync, it might just take a couple minutes for them to pull the info down.

at least mine do.

i also agree that this release is rock solid. and as far as the maps, the only real bug is that it breaks programs that use its API, so apps like layar have problems. but the maps application itself is solid (at least on my phone...)
