2 amp charging dock for Note 2?

Hi everybody. I've been charging my Note 2 on my universal Samsung dock charger which I bought for my S3. I have to believe that the dock only charges at 1 amp even with the Note 2 charger because it only charges 10% or so per hour on my Note 2. The charger without the dock charges more than twice as fast.

Does anybody know if there is a decent 2 amp charging dock for the Note 2 other than the $100 smart dock?

It can't possibly be that slow. If its 10% an hour, thats...10hrs of charge time. And 1amp isn't slow at all.
I don't even sleep for 10 hours...

10 hours from empty to full charge. Correct. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and after sitting on the dock all night it is not fully charged. I suspect there is a compatability issue between the Note 2 charger and the dock. Try it yourself and report back to me.

In any case, my question was whether you are aware of a 2 amp charging dock for the Note 2.

Sounds more like it is charging at 500ma.

Have you verified the charging rate with battery monitor widget or similar app?

I would guess it's charging at 600-700 ma. It is not a concern. There is nothing wrong with the charger, the dock, or the phone. I've seen this sort of thing before when not using OEM chargers. One of my 1 amp 3rd party chargers would not charge my S3 at all, but it would charge my wife's phone. My Anker external charger only works with my Nexus 7 if I use the Anker cable that came with it instead of the Nexus 7 cable. This is a compatibility issue with the dock which was not designed for the Note 2.

I was just wondering if there are any 2 amp charging docks for the Note 2.

It has to deal with either the charger or the cable. I don't know the specifics of the dock that you have, but you could hack it to work with the dock.

I got a free dock that charges at 1a due to the cable used in the dock. If i changed the cable, my dock would work at 2a. It was free, so not really complaining

Looks like the $100 Samsung smart dock is the way to go. Maybe someday I'll actually use the "smart" part.
