I got it the other day but we just got our watches and I thought maybe it was cause we just got our watches and it was getting them up to date. Do watches have a monthly security update like our phones I don't remember?

No monthly updates. So far, I have had 2 updates & originally received the watch after pre-order in August. Samsung doesn't follow much of a watch update schedule. I don't know what their criteria is for actually releasing an update.
