My Samsung Galaxy Express keeps crashing. I cannot use my phone without my phone restarting every 15-30 minutes. It happens during phone calls too!
Especially when I try to use the Samsung keyboard, I have to wait anywhere between 2 minutes to 20 minutes for it to load. (20 minutes is if the phone crashes, restarts one or two times).

I have gone into task manager and cleared applications. Only 4 applications running? And it only brings it down to 40MB left of RAM. I am Sick of Android right now, I do not understand why my apps will not load without crashing my phone. I do not play Games. I only have social networking and a music player that was reloaded. I did a hard back up (clearing my phone to factory and restarting) and it did not even help.

For some reason in the application manager all of my running apps are always "Restarting" ALL OF THEM!

what is going on with my phone???

start over. do a factory reset...wipes your phone clean like day you got it. use it with no apps and see if you have trouble. add apps back slowly over many days so you can tell the problem app when it happens

I already did that and my RAM is still high. 750mb/800mb. With none of the apps I installed on it. It still keeps restarting, except every hour or two.

I cannot use my keyboard anymore. So texting and everything else is pretty much useless

Can you download System Monitor? It sometimes lists things not listed in the Apps list in the Phone Setting menu. How old is your phone and when did this start?

Also try downloading a different keyboard, like Kii, and turn off the Samsung keyboard.

You might be having some kind of issue with the phone or battery overheating and causing it to reboot. Have you noticed the phone being hot? Might not even be a memory thing. It's download System Monitor and try to see what's up.

Good call. My phone constantly overheats and the RAM spikes with the temperature. It happens to me if my phone is in my purse AND also in an enclosed case. System Monitor will also let you see your phone temperature. I'm not sure what's normal.

I got this phone in April. I am trying to download system monitor. I have to do it online because my phone keeps crashing and then the S voice keeps asking me what to do.

90% of the time my phone is kept away from hot areas. At work I usually leave it near the air conditioner or fan. Same for driving.

On another note my background image keeps crashing and turning black.

finally my phone is behaving. So far this is what my tasks are reading:

If you just got the phone in April, I'd do a warranty replacement. It shouldn't be doing this. My phone gets up to 50?C (122?F) before it starts acting up. My current temp is 36?C (98?F) and is acting fine.

The warranty only replaces hardware not software. Unless the battery explodes or my RAM is actually broken then it will get replaced.

I went to samsung with the same problem. All they told me was it is a software issue and could not be replaced.

Does System Monitor tell you how much RAM each service or process is taking up? It'd be helpful to know which of the ones you listed are taking up the most RAM.

This is kind of a headscratcher, because Android is supposed to have a threshold low memory level that triggers it to close out the least frequently used app currently in memory. 20 MB of free RAM seems pretty low.

I saw you mention S voice a few times. Have you tried disabling it?

I think you need to talk to someone else. If the phone isn't processing properly, it's a hardware issue. Did you talk to your carrier?

The list you gave us, where is that from? System Monitor has different tabs. One tab says TOP APPS. If you select that, then the RAM column, it will put them in order highest to lowest. What does that say? Can you do a screen shot and post it?

I would go into Settings-Application Manager-swipe over to all apps, and disable bloatware. To do that click on an app you are sure is bloat, say Yahoo Finance. It will bring up the application information screen, and below the name is 2 buttons. Force stop and disable/uninstall updates. Uninstall updates has to be done first inorder to disable. Once disabled, these apps are no longer drawing RAM.
Hope this helps.

Too many apps on your phone now, clear up the useless files or apps!!

The problem seems to be with excessive system RAM usage, rather than storage. If the error message was "Low Phone Storage," then I would agree, useless apps should be uninstalled. But what the OP is describing sounds like too many active processes taking up too much system RAM.

But if the useless apps are using the RAM they should be removed.

However, the OP has already said that it does this after a factory reset with few apps installed. That's why I think Samsung should replace the phone since clearly the phone isn't processing properly.

Wouldn't bloatware, once killed by Android, try again to restart? Thus causing the loop?

But if the useless apps are using the RAM they should be removed.

From the list the OP posted of currently running apps and services, I didn't recognize much that looked like bloatware, so I figured they weren't using system RAM.

I think we are in agreement on this point.

And I think you're right about needing a replacement.
