Hello,
So I just got the s25 plus yesterday and I have been playing around with it to see if its worth the upgrade. Just kinda wanted to put my observations out there just in case anyone else was thinking of the same thing.
Screen: First thing, putting my s23 plus and my s25 plus by each other, i noticed a difference in the screen, mainly colors and brightness. I was confused as to why that was, and after doing some research, i found out that the s23 plus have a AMOLED screen, and while most places report the same for the s25, the s25 has a LTPO screen. I believe that Samsung did this to keep up with the adaptive refresh rate, and to help with battery consumption. Again, I think only people with sharp eyes who put both phones together might notice this, as I certainly didn't when i went and played around with the Plus and the Ultra in best buy by themselves. Just something to think about, i don't know if anyone else has noticed this or its just me.
Sound: I do like the sound, i feel like the acoustics are better. A lot of reviewers i feel like don't really talk about the speaker or how loud it can get, but I do feel like the sound is fuller and better on the S25 plus and even the Ultra.
Software: The software is ok, and while it looks nice, I noticed i was trying to change it back to what I had on the S23. First of all, the app drawer, while it can be changed, it goes straight up and down, instead of side to side which I like. You can change that, but it only will work on the home screen. If anyone else knows how to put it how it used to be, please let me know! The other thing was the notification screen. I really didn't like that you can pull down on different sides from the top, so I put it back the way that I had my s23. Depending on where you pull it down, i think it gives different info.
Also, I noticed someone had mentioned Samsung Messages. Its not on my device which is unlocked. I did go into the Galaxy Store and I downloaded it myself, and disable/uninstalled the google one. So that's an option if you like Samsung messages. One of the other things i noticed is that AR Zone is not there and thats a shame because i did like creating the avatar. Maybe its in another part within the camera but i haven't found it yet. It seems like Samsung introduces these gimicky things and then later, they get buried and soon forgotten. An example of this would be the air commands, or screen recorder.
Camera: I have taken a few pics with the camera. I must admit, im not a camera person, but the colors seem to pop, my only issue is that zooming into 30x does not give the best pics and they seem to be overprocessed. I had way better image processing on the Ultra, taking pics with 100x zoom.
Battery seems to also be running well. Ive had light use for the past 7 hours and have only went down 8%, this is internet, facebook, and some youtube videos. The phone itself is pretty fast, im just not 100% convinced its worth upgrading. I do plan on keeping mine, but others may see this as a cheap cash grab by Samsung. I think if you have a S21 or 22, it would be worth the upgrade.
Thoughts?
Also it seems like a lot of people got the S25 Ultra..i have a little bit of FOMO lol.
