I know there are similar posts about the general issue but not this particular problem so dont waste my time with search suggestions or flaming me!!! My first EVO had light leakage and after the recent update any activation of the GPS caused the phone to randomly restart (the only non stock thing about the phone was I used UnrEVOked one click "root"). I finally asked for a replacement, got it yesterday and received the OTA today. I hard reset the refurb right out of the box just to make sure. I only had basic programs on this replacement (goggles, google voice, myspace, aim, fourquare, pandora, facebook, twitter, and thats about it) and did not restore anything but my old SMS messages. I just started up foursquare and guess what? THE RANDOM REBOOT! Any advice? I doubt it is fourquare or any of the other basic programs so I'm lost!!

Try another hard reset? That's how I fixed my gps reboot issue. Sucks that a reset isn't a guaranteed solution :/

gianmarco00 at XDA suggested trying to remove the SD card... I did, now no GPS issue??? So what could the problem be the card itself or something that reads the card?

Hmm... who knows. GPS doesn't even access the SD Card, does it?
But good to see the problem get fixed.

just talked to HTC they said they have known about this problem and plan a maintenance OTA update fix "soon" to fix it but they didn't know about the SD card trick. Well my question is if they didn't know it had to do with the SD card do they even know whats causing it yet haha

Lol... gives me less hope that they'll fix the fps issue cause they sent me an e-mail (and many others) that they're working on it.

i posted the earlier one up

Hey you're not the only one with the problem man! I got replacement phone in today after hours of explaining to the Sprint techs.... they really didn't believe me! I kept explaining what was going on and they transferred me to account services and they took care of me. Anyways, I didn't have the rebooting issue again so far.
I noticed something on the replacement evo and the back cover doesn't shut properly.... I checked my old evo that I'm about to send out and it had the same problem.... wow that's insane... I guess ill have to deal with it.
Sprint tried to charge me 100$.... yeah lol ok

Tried removing the SD card...didn't fix the problem.

Went to a Sprint Store the other day, they did a hard reset and it seemed to stop the reboots for about a day. Now it started rebooting again with the use of GPS. Just went back and had them look at it again and they are replacing it. They said they should have a replacement tomorrow.

I have 2 Evos on my account. One of them has been having the GPS reboot problem and the other one works just fine.
