3 Android phones, never one Fbook notification...

Can anyone please help me?

I have owned, in order...

OG Droid
DInc
Tbolt (current)

I have facebook notifications active, you name it, I've tried it. Resets, factory resets, install/uninstall, sign in/out.

I get text alerts but they are so slow, love to have an instant notification like everyone else!

Can anyone please help? Is this because of any settings on the actual full Fbook site?

TIA

There was a sticky thread in some of the forums on here, can't find it now.

But it has a solution to the problem.

In a nutshell you need to find a friend with a blackberry, log onto Facebook through the blackberry app, turn notifications on.

After you have done this you should get notifications, I owned a blackberry before this so I never had the issue, but friends who have always had Android do encounter this problem.

I've never owned a blackberry, and when I don't load up facebook on my non-activated iphone, I get notifications perfectly on both my transformer and Thunderbolt. I agree it seems its hit or miss. The blackberry solution will work (even if you just go to a store, log in, activate it and then log off from a blackberry).

Yup, that's it in a nutshell. It's strange, but if you connect with a BlackBerry, then apparently FB notifications work. Mine have always worked...and I had a BB prior to getting my Android phone.

Great idea, My old BB Storm is dead. So I'm off a VZW store.:)

Yeah, I didn't have FB when I had my Storm2. So I tried this and worked, going to have my wife also do it. My teenager gets hers on her Fascinate, but she had FB while she used my old Storm2 a few months. Makes sense why she got her FB notifications as sson as she moved to Android.

I have to laugh at the thought of walking into a VZW store and they always ask "How may I help you?"....our response is "I have to borrow your blackberry to log into Facebook"

I bet you will get strange looks.....and you might teach the workers something!
