1 GB of RAM and 803 MB for the user. How come no matter how many apps I close, refresh, and restart my phone I hardly get over 300 MB available? I did at one point get up to 400 MB but never again. I'm using launcher pro but I doubt that's doing it. Anyone experiencing anything similar?

Mine is showing 497MB free, but honestly, I don't ever look at it. I let Android manage it. I expect Android to manage available RAM and make it available to applications if needed.

On a fresh boot I got about 550. Use the clean up script I created to disable some of the junk in the background sucking down your RAM: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ht...-guide-3vo-clean-up-remove-all-bloatware.html

Also Sense is killing it too!!! I am now using Go Launcher EX. I prefer it over Sense.

Re: 300 MB of RAM??

its because android keeps apps cached. whether you like it or not. it will keep things cached. if it comes down to it and you need the ram. it clears some of those cached. go to menu>settings>applications>running services>menu>show cached processes

you will also see your true free ram. cached, in this situation anyways, basically means free ram
