32 GB Micro SD Card for EVO $99, not $200

Back up to $99? That sucks. I got mine last week from Verizon for $49.99 + Tax overnight. Just formatted and installed actually :D

Write speed. Basically how long it will take to transfer files to the card.

Which could be a while if you intend on filling that sd card all at once with movies... I would leave it going overnight if you've already converted all your movies and are going to send them to the phone. Otherwise, convert your movie, and send it to the phone. Won't seem like it takes as long. Also, doubletwist is already slow as it is, if you got a huge library, thats going to take a while, too.

Yeah I posted this a few days ago, try to find someone with a Verizon account and been with them for a while and you will get another 25% off. My sister has one and got mine for $75.

I think that I will buy the memory card from Verizon, but I'm not sure if I need it. I haven't filled my 8 gb card yet that came with the phone.

For those wondering how much the "real world" difference is in how long it takes to write to a Class 2 vs. Class 6 card (like I was before I got to compare them), the answer is "it's significant". From what I've observed Class 2 takes significantly longer for writing which becomes significant when you're moving large amounts of data (small files like MP3's, not so much).

Whether that difference in write speed makes Class 2 a dealbreaker is ultimately up to the user. If you're constantly moving very large files to your phone or are impatient, go with Class 6. I only copy stuff to my phone a few times a month so Class 2 no big deal for me.

Yes, I have. I ordered it a couple weeks ago and it finally came in yesterday. I put it in the sd card reader it came with and put it in computer. Didn't work. So I was like... Ok maybe its just the sd card reader, and put it in my own reader. It worked! Sort've. I put about 2.5gb of music on. (the transfer speed was less than 1mb/s) Then I put it in my Evo. I got "damaged sd card" error, tried to format it, never worked. Finally put it back in computer. Failed a few times, finally got it to work. Half the music was gone, and also it was only 29gb not 32gb. I got it to work with my phone twice, and then after a reboot it stopped working. Also while it was in my phone I could never get it to work with USB transfer. It just wouldn't work.

tl;dr:

Sort've worked but not really. Won't work if you plan on using it with your phone and don't want to deal with errors and remounting and rebooting every time you use your phone.
