Is there any advantages of having the entire 32 gigs in the internal storage vs have it with 16 internal and a 16 SD card? I ordered the 16 and was going to put in a 16 card but was wondering if there is any reason not to do this and get the 32 instead.

Depends on how much music, movies and porn you're wanting put on it.

I've had one and seen 2 SD cards go corrupt. Prefer to not use them if I dont have to.

Music 2gb
Pics 1gb
Porn Just a couple of videos of your girlfriend......LOL...Just kidding

My question isn't about space as much as is there an advantage of all of the memory internal vs having some both internal and external.

I would have to believe internal memory speed is noticeably faster than an SD card. I got the 32gb phone and am planning on putting a 32gb SD card in as well. The advantage of the SD card is that your data isn't lost if the phone crashes.

Can't transfer apps to the SD or have apps use the SD card in a lot of cases.... so yes, many advantages.

I'm not really techie enough to explain how the new storage system works. However, there is a difference in how the SD card is used vs. the On Board storage. I'm now using a DroidX. Apps, games and data can all be on the SD card with the DroidX. As I understand it, apps and their data will have to be on the internal on board memory. The ext-memory SD card is only useful for movies, music, and pictures, no apps. When I read that it caused me to order the larger 32gb internal memory version. Ordering the 16gb and then installing a large ext-memory card will not give the same storage options. I don't have the problem but some were complaining about the size of some very large game applications quickly filling the 16gb storage.

I like internal memory better. Easier to manage just 1 partition. Less chance of loss of data due to corruption and speed. Sd card advantages is easier transfer of data between devices and computers, can get more storage when necessary and use multiple cards. But I've had as cards go bad on me or something happened and the card needed to be wiped so I try not to use them if I don't have to. Just my personal experience.
