3a or Nokia 9 ?

Since “better” is 100% subjective, what is/was “better”?

It is smoother and faster.
Camera is much better.
Battery life is better.
Pixel features such as spam and call screening.

These are just a few off the top of my head. That doesn’t make the Nokia 7.1 bad, just the 3a better in my opinion.

That's a hard call.

The Nokia 9 is pretty awesome and excellent bang for your buck. The Pixel 3a is a very reliable and remarkable phone, especially in its price point and the camera.

I think if you are into cameras and photos, then the 3a is your best bet. But only you can make that decision, OP. :) Keep us posted!

I'm up for upgrade IV currently got a p20 pro I would stay with it but I'm handing it to my partner who's has broke hers I jus want something different i want a good camara pics of the little one and stuff like that I'm currently between buying a Nokia 9 or 3a outright or going with a pixel 4 or 4 XL on contract as there's great deals on those at the moment in UK

If you would like a good camera, I'd say it's between the 3a and Pixel 4 line - and it's about how much you are willing to spend/whether you want to buy outright or on contract.

The Pixel 3a will still give you plenty of features and an excellent camera and capable processor, even though it's over a year old. Don't let its age fool you - it's still a top-notch phone!

Would you say 4 battery life is worse then a p20 pro ? Or would XL be better or are they around the same due to screen size and software

Also on the Nokia 9 I can get that for £350 and the 3a for £329 so hard to say what's best bang for buck

GSM Arena states that the Pixel 4 XL's battery is 3700 mAh and has a battery endurance rating of 73 hours. The Pixel 4 is 2800 mAh and 62 hours, respectively. I'd say there would still be a difference in battery performance since, though they have the same processor and both have an adaptive battery, the Pixel 4 XL does have a bigger battery.

The Huawei P20 does have a 3400 mAh battery and a 75 hour endurance rating; but the processor is older than the one on the Pixel 4's. Granted, it's a Kirin processor which I do enjoy. Since it was released in March 2018, I'd still say the Pixel 4, with a newer processor and adaptive battery, would perform better with battery life.

My advice to you would be to watch review videos to see if those phones would meet your needs!

Ended up ordering a iPhone 11 just can't pass up its a great all rounder and it will hold its value so in 6 months I could sell and buy a p4 or 4a if it's that bad it is one hell of a ungly phone though

I think the Pixel 4a will be a great budget phone. The iPhone 11 is a great phone but I am no longer a fan of iOS. But if you don't mind the closed ecosystem then the 11 is an excellent choice.
