The classic 3g is on pre-order now from at least VZW and AT&T, I believe. Anyone switching from the sport 3g to the classic 3g?

I'm on the fence. I want a watch with more attractive band options and I think the knurled edge of the classic bezel will be easier to turn, but I use the watch for running so I'm not sure I want to be swapping bands all the time (I'd get a cheap quick release band for running). I guess I could keep the sport as well but that's pretty expensive to have both, and I'm not 100% sure how pairing with multiple watches would work.

I'm also disappointed the 3g classic is only available in black, but that's a separate issue. I'd prefer brushed silver.

Just curious if anyone else is thinking about switching.

I'm actually thinking about it too. I have the non 3g sports model right now. My only question is if I could use it in like cricket wireless network, I don't have AT&T.

I'm thinking about it. I have the S2 Sport non-3g right now. I would like the standalone ability and not having the phone on me all the time. I have Verizon. I'm going to the local Verizon store to check it out.

I love having 3g; at this point I won't buy a non-3g watch. Though for a dressier watch (where I'm likely to have my phone with me) I would consider a non-3g watch if it offered the phone capability over bluetooth (like the Gear 1 and Gear 2 did), but the non-3g watches don't even offer that since they don't have a speaker.

It's very frustrating to me how Samsung has carved out functionality in their products. I even miss having the camera in the Gear 2, since it was great to document quick things and took awesome closeups of dog noses.

My only problem with the 3G is the carriers (AT&T, Verizon, TMobile, etc.) seem to be lagging with the updates. With the S2 non-3G, I'm getting updates quickly. So...still not sure.

I just found out LG is planning to re-release the urbane 2 LTE, so I'm going to wait and see how that plays out.

I have an Apple watch and not very happy with it and like the idea of having a watch with 4g and phone at home.
If I decide to get the S2 classic can I get email, text and other apps that require internet. Love the looks of the S2 classic and to be honest the Apple watch is boring. Love to hear from anyone.

Thanks

Yes remote connection will send you all the notifications that come to your phone. The good thing about the gear s2 is that when your near a WiFi connection it will use that connection instead of your cellular connection to help preserve battery.
