3G Issues After ICS Update

So far I'm liking the ICS update. Definitely nice to be seeing a version of Android that everyone else has. I do have a problem with changing from 4G to 3G. I've always used the LTE On/Off app that I downloaded when the thunderbolt first came out. I always had it set for 3G because the battery life was terrible. Very rarely would I switch back to 4G.

Since I got the update, when I reboot my phone, it always gets reset to 4G. Before, my phone would keep the 3G settings even when I would reboot or power down. It's a pain now to keep having to open LTE On/Off to switch back to 3G. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a different app that is working fine on ICS and holding 3G settings even when rebooting or powering down?

If you rarely use 4g, them perhaps you don't need the quick access to this that an app like On/Off provides. I live in an area that until recently was super marginal for 4G. Traveling even a short distance still drops me back into the world of 3G access only. So I often keep my phone in 3G unless I know I will have good 4G access. Simply going to Settings/Mobil Network/Network mode and then choosing CDMA Only keeps my phone in 3G only - even after reboots or powering on or off. While this method does not give single touch access to a toggle, it is not all than inconvenient to change when you need to. Perhaps this will do the trick for you.

Thanks. I don't believe this was a setting I ever saw until now with the ICS release. I just tested on my phone and it worked and kept 3G.
