I'm seriously on the fence right now with the Droid Bionic and Verizon's Samsung Galaxy S II. One being 4G and the other 3G. My upgrade is up so I'm just now waiting for these to come out so I can use it. My biggest question is, should I take into consideration of the phone being 3G or 4G? I want to make sure my next phone for 2 years is good and current with updates, usage, ect. I need help with this issue big time lol.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: 3G or 4G?!?!

We don't even know if the SGS2 will only have 3G. Also if you aren't gonna download any huge files or browse graphics heavy sites on your phone, then you're fine with 3G.

I don't notice much difference from hspa (T-Mobiles supposed 4G.) to 3g, so I am sure you would be fine. Thing is LTE is supposed to be wicked. So I may want what the future will be. That's just me though.

See majority of me wants to get LTE just so I have the latest and greatest lol. I'm just in a pit right now on what phone to get. Now I'm hearing awesome things about the HTC Vigor. So many damn options. I just need to get rid of this Blackberry Storm.

If you really want to be happy for the next two-year contract wait and see what is released and how good the reviews are. With regards to 3G or 4G, start by looking at the coverage map for the provider in your area and see if 4G is even an option.

If you want something that stays up to date, at least software wise, wait for a new Nexus device. There's a rumored ICS Nexus which should be updated fairly regularly over a 1 to 2-year period.
