3G speed improvements?

There may or may not have been some threads regarding this in recent past, but I'm going to ask bluntly: Does anyone in the developer community know of any way to improve 3G data speeds? As we all know, Sprint has the slowest network all-around, but now that I have my GS3, I'm growing more and more desperate for something that will boost 3G performance if at all possible.

You cannot get blood from a stone. You are going to have to tough it out until network vision is rolled out. I am waiting on it myself to ditch VZW for sprints LTE network (thankfully we here in Harrisburg pa are already getting tested)

When I had my original Evo 4G, there was a mod one could apply that was supposed to "turbocharge" the 3G speed (assuming you have root, of course). I never actually applied it, but that was because I had WiMAX when I needed it. I thought perhaps there was something similar, but more generalized for rooted Sprint phones.

maybe it is different for sprint, but the turbo we have for verizon doesnt increase speeds per se, it just optimizes the way the phone deals with the data. you can only *get* the data as fast as sprint wants to hand it out

This sounds like a worthy alternative. Has anyone who has Sprint done this on their GS3?

pizzadude....how do you know Harrisburg is testing? Is there an ETA for when LTE might go live?? I have been wanting to upgrade from my OG evo4g to the new LTE but didn't want to do it until go live was close. Thanks for any info you have.

I am mainly curious because sprints website doesn't have Harrisburg mentioned anywhere for the upgrade.

Flashing a Verizon PRL and roaming all the time can result in Sprint cancelling your service.
