4.4.2 bugs...

I recently upgraded from a Note 3 to an LG G3... After the 4.4.2 upgrade the Note exhibited all kinds of buggy behaviors. Internet connectivity drops, IVR unable to hear DTMS tones, blue tooth stream to car kit broken by a waiting call sent to voice mail. With all the issues, I jumped to the LG G3. It fared better but some issues remained. I determined that it was either 4.4.2 or how a resident app, something from t-mobile, interacted with 4.4.2. Most annoying with both phones was the killing of the blue tooth stream when an unanswered incoming call is directed to voice mail. After disabling visual voice mail, I was able to continue a call in progress after a waiting second caller went to voice mail.

Relying on regular voice email, I noticed that the notification icon would stay up after clearing out the voice mail queue. I disabled lookout and found that things went back to normal. So it seems that when the new upgrade 4.4.2 came on board that some existing apps have not played well with it.

Yeah, I would just disable Lookout. You don't need antivirus unless your side loading apps from shady copy cat "play stores".

Welcome to the forums!

The G3 is a great phone and it shouldn't disappoint you! If you need any help, we are here to help you!!

Do NOT listen to Gator, apps can easily get passed googles anti virus in the play store, always have an antivirus app installed. Comodo is a good one to use.

WHUUUUUUT? The chances of getting a virus from Google's play store is .1% at best. Now mind you, if your downloading tons of apps and clicking the ads in those apps....then yeah....it could happen, but if you're smart about it it's nothing to worry about. Side loading apps is the #1 culprit of malware and etc. on Android.

Agree. Be more concerned about malware. Your more likely to find it than viruses.

Well, Lookout looks for malware also...in a way....but it's about being smart and NOT clicking on ads every time one pops up in an app you downloaded.

Here are just three links to better inform you on the threats.
You will have to take better measures to assure you dont get a virus, simply trusting google has your back is not ideal.
Always use an anti virus on your phone.
Google has implemented a scanner on Android 4.4.2 but just using this or nothing is leaving your phone exposed.
I have downloaded hundreds of apps by way of unknown sources and have never got a virus.
I have got warnings of potential apps being harmful but I use my discretion and know about the app and what it can do and why it is being flagged as suspect.

I use comodo as my main anti virus app and they are not fake. I use them on my PC.
I also trust and use Mcafee and a couple others to fully find what others don't.
I hope that you never get a virus but when a hacker gets into your phone,
by way of Bluetooth or NFC or other means like WiFi hotspots not to mention app installations.
You will wish you were warned by an anti virus apps before hand.

Who see's ads anymore? I never see ads because I use ad blockers or block internet connections to the apps.
Click on ads....HAH!

There are certainly some sick viral and malware a......s out there. If they can be identified from their activities, which I should have thought they could, it ought to be possible to ban them from future use of mobile or landline networks, to say nothing of any other punishments. I remember reading about just such a case here in the UK. The guy was slouching about the streets with hands in pockets, unable to get online anywhere.
McAfee I've got preloaded on my G3....I just had to activate it.
