4.4.4 update on previously locked device?

Hi all,

I recently brought a HTC One M8 locked to Vodafone on PAYG at a really good price, I unlocked the phone and now use my Virgin contract SIM in it no issues at all.

Today I got a notification for the 4.4.4 update. Will there be any issues updating the phone which is running 4.4.3 because it was previously locked and not unlocked from factory? I read some conflicting opinions about how the update wont work unless the carrier sim is in etc. or the phone will relock? I'm in the UK if that is of any significance.

Sorry if this is a noob question just getting into the android scene after being an iOS user for many years.

If you got the update notification, then it's not sim dependent, so there should be no issues.
