4.4 Kit Kat Help!!!!

I manually upgraded my HTC One to Kit Kat, and everything seemed fine at first. However, I soon realized I can't rearrange my home screen panels. Long pressing on them just brings up the option to change the wallpaper. Google Now is not incorporated into the home screen either, and that is a feature I actually want. I tried going into settings and turning Google Now off, and then on again and that did not seem to help. Even tried rebooting, no dice.

any one else experiencing these issues and any idea how to fix?

OK, I think I figured this out after some more Web searching. It seems that the features I was afraid I was missing are actually device specific to the nexus 5. So I guess everything went well after all
