so if i have 2 palm pres from launch day on a family plan that use to be separate accounts prior to when the pre came out. Do I have to pay the $450 for a 2nd Evo on launch day as a premier customer or can I get them both for $199 plus the re-up on the contract?

I am going to pay out of pocket for sure. I thought I was paying 599.00 anyway before all this. Also I just got off the phone with my sprint store and they are taking names and numbers now to have enough stock on release. The rep said I would be deffinatly get it on release. I also threw in the comment will I have to go to Best buy or radio shack to preorder or can you guys help me out because I want this phone. They were happy to help. HE HE

I think you'll get the $75 off the second line.

I'm sorry but I don't see how it's possible this hardware could only cost $449 off contract, that's the Hero's cost and $100 less than the Pre ?!

I got the email in the first post from sprint. If I get any hassels I am going to print a copy of it and bring it to a sprint store to recieve the price I am told from the official sprint document.

449 is probably the starting price based on signing a 2 year contract. It will likely be higher if you are going with a non-contract outright purchase. Our prices at The Shack work that way at least.

Does sprint offer a 1 year contract with a lesser discount. I dont mind being locked into a contract but not for 2 years.

Engadget is reporting the price is 449 without a contract... so I don't think that is just the 2 year contract price.... You also gotta realize if you get this phone you are paying $120 per year in extra data service.... or 240 for a 2 year contract.... That's almost $700 for this phone... Just sayin...

I just got back from preordering the Evo at Best Buy in Memphis; I was apparently the 4th person to do so...I asked the rep about the retail price without contract, and she promptly replied "six to seven hundred dollars". I was prepared to pay this price before official pricing was announced, but i was hoping to save some money with the supposed $449 quote. Heres to hoping that the rep had no idea that she was talking about, and that engadget got it right!

The rep at my Best Buy said $800. I told her that Sprint had it listed for $450. Another worker chimed in that if Sprint had it for $450 it was likely the BB would have the same price. But I also remember that outrageous price tag they had on the Pre when it came out.

I'm hoping to not pay full retail but somehow the "primary" line on my account got switched to my wife's line even though it was mine last year when I got the Pre. Hopefully they get that all sorted out in the next couple of weeks. But $450 isn't bad for this quality of phone at all.

thanks for replying! I was posting this same issue on another forum, and was informed by another poster that BB apparently charges 100 to 150 more per phone off contract than does the actual sprint store( i have no idea why). Unfortunately the 50 dollar preorder gift card is nonrefundable, so i may have to buy the phone at spring and use the card to purchase something else:D

Again, im not completely sure about this, but i wanted to give everyone a heads up before delving into this

I just looked online and BB still has the Pre listed as a full $749. I wonder if it is the same in store. I'll have to check it out.
