4G antenna gone BAD

For little over a week I've been having problems with my EVO speeds. So I downloaded a popular speed test app from the market. I work in 4G territory and was not able to get over 1mb download speed. I thought maybe there was a 4G network issue so I tested my speeds all week and still same results SLOW not the 3-6mb I was hoping to get. Over the weekend I tested it in various places and got sporadic results nothing consistent and still mostly 1mb or less download speeds. I called the service center and was told there were no network issues in my area. Sprint opened a ticket and told me to take my phone in for service. I dropped my phone off and 2 hours later I was told my phone had a bad antenna. I could not believe it. They're sending me a new EVO.

If you're nice about it, Sprint will usually bend over backwards for you like they did for you. Congrats!

definitely going to be refurb, unless under 30 days, but its new to you i guess lol

I had an issue like that but after a few days its stopped, so I just think it was a network thing

So I got my new refurb EVO in the mail. I went through the activation routine to get the phone working. After I got my device all setup I did some speed testing since this is the issue that got me here. The speeds were better in both 3g and 4g but not as fast I had expected. In 3G I was getting 1.2mb down and .8 up and in 4G I still was not getting the 2-3mb range. I was still getting like 1.5mb down and 1mb up. I had 2-4 bars in both 3G and 4G during all my testing. So I got to think that it has to be Sprint's network, or the Speed test app I'm using. So my next test I will use Sprint's Speed test site and see what the results yield. I posted the link below. Stayed tuned.....
