4g issues

I just met a guy at work and he was asking me if I have had any 4g issues.... Since the gb update he hasn't been able to get 4g, in locations where he should he only get 1x. Just wondered if any one had sine tips on what I could check for him to fix the issue??

Since the upgrade, I do get 4G, but the download is very, very slow. Slower than 3G!

This is just a thought. Did he by any chance buy a 3rd party battery and cover?. I bought the extended battery off eBay with the extended battery cover....for some reason, that killed my signal. I don't know if it was the cover or the battery. Luckily it was only $18.00. As soon as I put my stock battery in and cover....4G came blazing through reliably.

I have read on this forum that using aftermarket batteries and covers will do that.

Nope no after market battery, and it's showing 1x so he's not getting 4g at all

I have found that a battery or SIM pull (2 minutes) restores the signal when I have 4G issues.

Mines gone since yesterday . And the signal bar only has one or two . Brooklyn nyc. Even the location wasn't working for half the day

I know this is the JACK HAMMER approach, but since you have tried all things....have you tried doing a factory reset?

Also, since you didn't mention if he or you where rooted, I take it that you aren't?. If you where, you could download different radios. I have Mr2, Mr2.5 and Mr3 on my phone and if I have issues, I flash to a different radio.

you can always go HERE and get the original GB OTA (september) and follow there instructions.

Nothing on my end has changed phone wise yet no more 4G. Plenty of 3G, however.

Is there an outage and we have not been told?

Battery pulls should always be part of smart phone troubleshooting 101. Many times electronics just need a power cycle to reset the internals....
