4G outage on Verizon

Just called Verizon as I have no 4G service in Northern NJ. Have been advised that they have an outage affecting thousands.

No ETA as to when it will be up and running.

You get a message about you Sim card not being able to authenticate.

Today Droid Razr sim cards took a dump. Spoke with Verizon customer service and it is an issue only effecting Droid Razr owners. Across the country!
You will see a red dot with an X in the middle of it. In the status bar Also 4G won't work. If you click on it. It will direct you to power down and contact customer service. Spoke with tech support. They seem to think going to a Verizon store and getting a new sim 4G card will fix it. But I am awaiting conformation on this fix.

I had 4G turned off all day. Got the same answer as most. "Bad sim card" Other than the annoying notification I see no difference. Internet works fine. Calling works fine. I'd like to hear the real reason before I do anything.

Just now, when I read the post, I turned off WIFI and 4G came right up! No problems with Droid Razr in Wisconsin.

4G is working like a champ on both my RAZR and my XOOM here in Utah.

Having this issue here in Delaware. On a reboot and sim card pull, 4g connects for a few seconds, then the sim error returns. This tells me the sim is probably fine, and once Verizon gets the network working properly again, we'll be back to normal without needing a new sim card.

Im located in Arkansas, but i still have my Pittsburgh, PA cell # - I am down as well.

For those waiting to go into VZ store to swap sims - dont bother, it still didnt help.

VZ Customer Service at the call center told me last night the problem is primarily in the NE part of the country, but not all cases are there (as evidenced in this thread with some folks in TX down as well.)

VZ is reportedly working directly with Moto to resolve, no ETA as of 9pm CST last night.

[EDIT] Swapping sim card at store has placed me even further down the 'disabled' list as i can no longer even use the phone-portion of the Razr due to new SIM waiting to register and activate....When you have the red X icon, some data still worked as i was able to connect to gmail and from a link in an email, i could open Youtube clips, etc. But if i tried to open the browser, it insta-failed in resolving/connecting to URLs...So save yourselves the pain and limp along with at least one small portion of the device until VZ/Moto can fix us...

Came across this post. Bionic here in North/Central NJ. 4g has been down since yesterday afternoon and I've been having intermittent 3g issues. Not cool...

My RAZR failed yesterday at 4 PM and still has no data with the SIM card warning icon in the Notification bar. I'm in Western MA.

Set your phone to CDMA only. When the service is back up set it back to CDMA/LTE
