4G Radio turns on every reboot

I've noticed whenever i reboot my 4G is turning itself on & sometimes it will turn on by itself throughout the day. Has anyone else noticed this?

I mean the actual 4G radio just to clarify.

My Shift doesn't turn itself on at reboot, but it does turn on sometimes without me clicking anything.

Are you using a 4G widget that's not the sense widget?

Beautiful widgets causes my 4G to turn on when I reboot. I am not sure if it causes 4G to turn on randomly though since I just bought it.

I use a Beautiful Widgets 4G toggle widget and my 4G automatically turns on whenever I reboot. It is annoying. However, I've never noticed my 4G radio powering on randomly otherwise.

I have the HTC Evo 4G with the latest OTA update as of 3/10/2010, I am not rooted and do not use a 4G widget. I too have the problem of 4G on at reboot and randomly throughout the day. I get HTC/Sprint's new so-called "helpful widget" that is really not a widget, but is in the notification bar alerting me that the 4G antenna is on, and then have to turn it off. Anyone ever find a solution to this?

This only started happening after the last OTA update. There is no longer a setting to turn off notification, just the checkbox to turn 4G on/off along with a menu item to initiate a scan. I wish it would go back to the original way it worked.
