After using 4G it lags my phone like crazy. I tried to watch YouTube hd then it lags my phone like crazy after shutting it off. Does 4g lag your evo. I'm disappointed. A phone made for 4g and it lags after. It lags so much I have to hard reset. Help?

It is either your phone, or you are on the edge of a 4G test tower. Has 4G been officially released in your area yet?

I notice the same behavior with my phone lately. I've got good coverage where i'm at, and it's not the connection lagging - It's the OS itself starting to lag. Something funky is going on because there are all sorts of page allocation errors for the wimax daemon in dmesg.
Code:

Yep I have experienced similar lag. In Raleigh, NC and DC area.

Had to shutdown and restart phone.

hmm, same thing here. are u guys using the wiMax notifier LED app by any chance?

I was in Austin this past week and I experienced my Evo lag...only on 4G. When I rebooted my phone it would go away but at some point it would return.

This does this to me as well here in the Boston area...i have to power the phone down and reboot it then its fine. Shouldn't have to do this and it really is a bad flaw with the phone. I was using the wimax LED for a day or two a couple of weeks ago but i uninstalled it. Im stock..no root.

I used to experience this too but not lately. Also when it did lag it was usually during the initial first 5 minutes or so. After that all the lag in the UI stopped.

I also experience extreme lag when I turn on 4G on my phone, even with FULL 4G bars. I refuse to use 4G anymore even though I get full coverage.

Also, my EVO has stock ROM and not rooted.

FYI...there's been a lot of separate threads cropping up about 4G lag, so I thought I'd point to one of the original ones that I'm aware of that has some of my personal experience in it.

I've had some success fixing it by putting it into airplane mode for about 10 seconds. It seems to me even after you turn off the 4G radio the phone still trys to scan or connect and that is what is causing the slow down. Most of the time if you turn off 4G then put it into airplane mode it forces everything off. You just have to leave it there long enough that the phone doesn't try to go back to scanning when you turn the airplane mode off.

Odd, I use my Evo 4G all day on a 4G connection. Mostly Pandora running. I use it as a radio at my desk. Never a problem. It only lagged on me once when I had no bars at home. But I kept getting then losing the 4G connection. So I cannot blame that on the phone.

Same here, The Whole OS slows down.
I am on the edge of a test area in FL. Even when I have full bars though it slows and will not speed up until I either power cycle or turn off the radio.

Stock Sense No root.

I saw this situation before. I couldn't try it out, so once I got my Evo, I turned on 4G, and there was no lag. I'm in LA though.

I don't think it turns off all of the time. Yesterday I turned 4G off and my battery dropped from a full charge to nothing in 4 hours. I rebooted and 4G was on after the reboot.
