This is a thread I posted over at another Android forum, could be useful in giving some insight on which cities could get the 4G rollout next.

I think we could use this thread to keep track of 4G coverage as Sprint and Clear roll it out as well as rumored 4G spots. Here's a map and list of cities so far Clear has covered.

Clear Coverage Map for Clear Internet Wireless Ready Cities | High-Speed Internet from Clear 4G

On the rumors list I think we could add Miami. Clear has set up a Twitter page for Miami: Miami Clear WiMax (MiamiWiMax) on Twitter

Also I took a screen cap of job listings in Miami off of Clearwire's website:

Feel free to add to the speculation.

Other potential CLEAR cities added below based on Twitter accounts and job listings from Clearwire's website

Tampa Bay - Job Listings: Executive, Rep, Engineering, Tech
Orlando - Job Listings: Executive, Rep, Tech, Sales
Denver - Job Listings: Director, Executive, Sales, Rep, Engineer, Tech
Phoenix
Cincinnati - Job Listings: Manager, Rep
Salt Lake City - Job Listings: Executive, Engineer, Rep, Manager
Detroit
San Diego - Job Listings: Director, Engineer, Sales, Tech

I know all new equipment from New Port Richey south to Sarasota is WiMax ready (since late last year) so I think Tampa is a good bet.

sneaky bastards do have Florida in the works ;)
Sweet.
I remember seeing Clear on a bunch of commercials in Texas (decent marketing, not amazing, but better than the creepy lady Palm Pre commercials). It was directed more to like college. kinda like a "get wifi anywhere, including the pool!"

Central Florida would make a great showcase area. Run WiMax all over the TB/St Pete metro, south to Sarasota and east along I-4 to Orlando. Huge potential sub base, lots of new equipment, and hungry county and local governments that like to draw new business and tech.

That's basically what happened in Baltimore. Sprint has a big presence there, and the local government would (still will) do anything to rebuild the city's image. Camden Yards + "futuristic" wireless internet blanketing the city gave city planners something to build on, so they did what was needed to help Clear instead of hindering.

The wimax in Baltimore is incredible. I used to have to visit twice a week for work, and when I got my overdrive we all played with it. Imagine 4 guys in a Dodge minivan taxi, the overdrive plugged into the cigarette lighter, and all 4 of us using laptops or netbooks with connection speeds of 2-3Mb/s on average. Actually had better data transfer rates than we do in the Marriot's conference room using their internet.

Now that's geeky ;)

Philly Wimax is really solid and it seems to be getting stronger every month. I used to not be able to get service in my house and work at all... Like NOTHING. I can now get service in some parts where before it was totally dead, it's never going to be perfect either since my house is a Cell Dead Zone (and certain spots of work).

Go to Clear.com and put in Sarasota, FL. It looks like they're already doing some preliminary build-out there and the area due south too.
