4K Chromecast with ethernet and 24p

I recently bought an Nvidia Shield and its Chromecast feature works great. If you need Chromecast and media player that will handle 4K and do a whole lot of other stuff too it's a good buy. I got the one with the 500GB disk but haven't found a good way to use the storage yet. Guess it's mainly meant for gaming but if you only want the media play features just get the cheaper one and sell the controller on ebay?
