5.1 thinks I'm in the UK

I did the sim card pull/ factory reset trick to force the 5.1 update on Cricket Wireless (AT&T). Well, it worked but the ROM must be for the UK. I have aeroplane mode instead of airplane, torch instead of flashlight and a bin instead of trash! Also the Amazon app defaults to the UK version. (That was an easy fix.) Luckily, the Play Store works, so far. GPS location is correct.
Is there any way to fix this short of flashing a whole new image?

Edit: the build number is LMY47D.

I'm a little out of practice, so I can't give you specifics, but if you root you should be able to edit the locale. Otherwise, I think flashing a whole new image is your only option.

That's what I was thinking too. Doesn't seem to be causing any problems. It's just so weird that this would happen. If this was a brand new phone right out of the box, the same thing would have happened as I usually set up a phone before inserting the SIM card.

Try going to settings>about phone>regulatory information

What model number does it say there?

I Googled the model no. It says it's the North American version.

Settings -> Language and input -> Language -> pick English (United States)

When I picked English (United Kingdom) I got the fancy UK words you are seeing.

Oh brother! Thank you!

Not that there is anything wrong with aeroplanes and bins!
