5 things I'd like.

I used to be a BlackBerry user, I've been using Android for 6 months now and thought I would post my thoughts and wonder if anyone could offer any advice or pointers. I have an HTC Desire running 2.2, all in all i LOVE it, but there are 5 things I would really like to see changed...

1. If someone rings you when you are typing a text message, it's lost.
   
2. You can't copy and paste from emails or text messages
   
3. The knack of getting into fast-scrolling in the contact list is weird.
   
4. When you've selected text in webpages WHY isn't "Google Search" one of the quick options, I rarely ever want to look something up in Wikipedia or translate it, but I often want to Google something, and it's a Google phone.
   
5. I would like to be able to extract numbers from text messages however short they are by tapping them (or copying them)

If someone rings you when you are typing a text message, it's lost.

How are you getting back to your messaging app? If you aren't doing this, press and hold home until the most recent list of apps appears and then select your messaging app. I've found in many apps that if I hit the icon on the home screen or in the app drawer to return to something I was working on that the message would be gone and I would be at the apps main screen. By using the approach above, I'm returned to where I was within the app.

The knack of getting into fast-scrolling in the contact list is weird.

How is this something you'd like? I can't speak for other devices but it's fairly straightforward and easy on my Droid. Once I start scrolling the fast scroll tab appears and I just slide it until the letter I'm looking for appears. Then I can scroll normally among the contacts whose names start with that letter. Is it different on your device?

You can copy an paste in email. When you see a section of the email you want to copy, press and hold the screen. The option to copy will pop up. Same as if you were on a webpage.

Like you, I'd love to be able to copy/paste txt msgs.

I was a BB user as well. I remember for the first week of using my EVO, I would open my contacts and use my thumb to scroll to the name I wanted. Not realizing that little grey scroll bar pops up to allow quick scrolling the the name/letter I want.
