Yup that is right kids.. My EVO has been unplugged for 56Hrs and it is still running with 34% battery life! Can this be possible..?

I purchased this Cheap A$$ Chinese 3500mAh battery from ebay for $10. Yes, you read that correct, $10! I was really skeptical about it, but i figured for $10 dollars why not give it a try. So i did.

When i first put the battery in it still had 56% of battery life. I went on ahead and charged it till the light turned green. Once it did, i noticed that my battery app was showing 95% and not 100%... I proceeded to turn off my phone and charged it while it was off till the light turned green again(15min later). When i turned the phone back on, it displayed 100% charge. I started to play with the phone for a bit and i noticed that it was dropping a percentage point almost every minute.. I was kinda disappointed but i knew this was going to be a junky battery anyways. Once after it dropped down to about 90% or so it became holding a steady charge and being a bit more stable..

So far from my regular "average" use of my phone which includes a few phone calls, lots of txt messages, browsing the web (with WIFI), playing about 30 min of games, taking a few picture of the kids etc. I currently have about 35% battery life and its been unplugged for 56Hrs...

My phone has the stock froyo 2.2 (not rooted) with the latest sprint update 3.29.657.5.

My PRI is 1.77_003
Im currently using the tips and tricks on how to extend the evo Battery from this site.

Here is the link to the ebay battery i purchased.

I dont know how many charges this battery will last me but so far it doing its thang for just a few bucks. I can post updates if anyone is interested.

One last thing... I usually average about 18 - +24hrs give or take depending on how much i use my phone with the 1500mAh batter it came with.

I'm confused about 1 thing. How is your battery temp at 25.4C? Mine is usually 30C+ with some use. Did you:

1. Turn the phone off and not touch it all day?
2. Live in an Igloo to get that temp?

My phone has been on all day. I've never noticed the temperature reading until you mentioned it so i'm not sure what the norm is. It is still showing 54.4c. Perhaps this battery runs cooler..? I can run more test on this if you like. Just post what you want me to do..

well I had my screen on for like 5-10 min while I was configuring the phone (flashed a new rom) and the temps climbed up to 36.5C.

What ever happened to fahrenheit lol... Anyway, forget the temp, whats your battery usage stats?

Would it be possible to see some pics comparing the thickness of the phone with each battery in it? Can't really go wrong for 10 bucks, I just don't want to add too much bulk to it.

My Seidio 3500 battery also lasts me about 3 days without charging, but damn, I had to pay 6x more than you did. For $10, I think I'll buy one just for emergency use.

According to your screenshots your phone has been awake for 4 hours and stand by the other 54 hours. The display battery usage at 3% means your screen hasnt been on for a long *** time. usually that number sits around 10%+ with normal usage.

Again I ask, did you just let the phone sit there all day?

That's excellent. I would love for my battery to last more than an hour and a half.

well that is good to hear... I read somewhere that most of these batteries are made at the same facility. For the exception that the "more" expensive batteries go through "quality control" and these generic no name batteries don't. So it could be a lottery pick if you get a good one or a bad one that only last 3-4hrs.

Here is a poor picture of what the back looks like.. lol Ill take a better picture tomorrow... hahahah
Over all it doesnt seem too intrusive in your pocket either...

No not really. I mean, im not glued to my phone. I've been texting friends through out the day so my phone doesn't sit there with out being used for any more than 2hrs at a time except when i sleep or riding my bike. my phone is set to turn off the screen after 1min of not being used. Dont know if that helps you any...

Out of 58 hours you've only been using it about 4 hours, based on that screenshot. I need to see some real world usage over 3G to get a good reading of how good or bad the battery really is.

I don't like how bulky the extended battery makes the phone.

Yeah, you've only used 4 hours out of the 58 hours from that screenshot. I have an uptime of 94 hours and used it for 35 hours, actually kinda low. I just sleep too much and have too much standby time >.<

dont know if this is what you are asking but here are some more pics...

Like a couple members stated before ... According to the screen shots you had 1 or 2 calls lasting 1 min and the rest of the time its just been basically sitting there .. My stock battery will last that long if I had a full charge then put it in a drawer and never used it ... Yours would last longer simply because of the bigger battery .. It amazes me how people post these long battery life then find out they are NOT using the phone .. This phone would/could NEVER last this long if you used it fully .. Those numbers will drop dramatically if you had some fun with your evo and actually used it ... ;)

TO ADD: Even with the OP using 4hrs of the 58 .. Those 4 hours may not be actual usage by the OP but may be the system running in the background .. The simple fact that the display was only on for 3% of this time justifies this.

You claimed to be using wifi, but you only show 2% wifi use. That doesn't work out. Did you simply turn *all* the radios off for most of this time?

Incidentally, I regularly go for over 3 days on the stock battery in light use on wifi. Right now, I'm at 64 hours unplugged with 10% battery remaining. However, my light use still results in 31% battery used by wifi. I find your numbers very suspicious.

It is a bigger battery then the factory by far. It has more area to dissipate heat.....

If he had WiFi set to turn off when the phone was asleep then the numbers would work out.

I guess it depends a lot on how much you use your phone, for anything. Right now, my "Up Time" is 90:28 and my "Awake Time" is 60:47 (with charging, obviously). On my OEM battery I usually get 6 hrs outta very heavy usage (screen on constantly or gaming) and 12-16 hrs for moderate use depending on 3G strength.

sounds about right. I get around the same. 6 hours heavy, 12-16 moderate/light.
