6.0.1 nav button location

When I updated one of the features I was looking forward to was the buttons being offset but after I updated they're still in the center. Is there a way to change this or for some reason is it only on the Nexus 9 if they stay the in the center.

So far they're only pushed out to the sides on the Pixel C.
