64 or 128

I only use half of the 32Gb on my 5x, but then I have very little data stored on the device (don't d/l movies or anything like that). All my music is streamed too.

Last October I would have voted for 64GB... But after Christmas was over....

It's so darn easy to fill this up with photos and videos because of how good the camera is!

I think 64gb is fine if you're using the cloud for pictures and videos and don't store music on your phone. That's what I went with.

Seeing as we all get free unlimited cloud storage until 2021 or whenever it is, I don't know why everyone isn't using it. I learnt years ago when a phone was damaged and couldn't be accessed that storing stuff on a phone itself can be risky and is also fairly pointless. Even if you back up to a computer and remove the old stuff off the phone makes more sense then keeping hundreds of photos and videos on there when they can also often be found on your social media accounts anyway.

I am using it. But when you're out shooting photos and videos left and right, up and down, you can run out of space rather fast if you can't get a reliable internet connection to back things up. This has happened to me during special occasions or white travelling with internet connectivity being unavailable for extended periods.

Oh I agree with that, I meant more the people who just hoard all the photos on the phone forever and never take advantage of the free unlimited storage.

I think Google should have made more of a thing about the free storage maybe even included a leaflet or something in the box or on the box itself explaining how to use it and why etc.

Turned in my 64 yesterday and got the 128 today. So glad I didn't have to wait long for delivery.

I keep all photos, videos and music on my SD card. Most everything else is on the local storage. My phone's hard drive is 32 Gig, and about half used up.

That doesn't truly help here since this is about the Pixel 2 which do not have SD cards :).

Since Google Photos storage is now unlimited, if you want a break in price, smaller is okay! :)

64 at present is JUST enough, but even then I've got my off-line maps on an SD Card. My previous phone was 32GB without an SD card and it was a balance, constantly deleting apps and data to fit. There is no such thing as ubiquitous coverage to allow cloud storage for anything.

Many don't want to put their porn and naked selfies on the cloud.

I think 64GB is fine for most especially since Google gives you free unlimited storage of photos and videos.

Heck I could probably get by on 16, 32 would be more than enough and 64 is overkill for me.

You're a mad man! Mad I tell ya!

Recording 4K video takes a TON of storage. I opted for 128 and had it full after the holidays. It's still sitting @ 68GB's after backing that stuff up. ;)

FLAC files take up a lot of room

Agreed! I think I could work with 16GB too... 32 would be more than enough!
