Seeing as we all get free unlimited cloud storage until 2021 or whenever it is, I don't know why everyone isn't using it. I learnt years ago when a phone was damaged and couldn't be accessed that storing stuff on a phone itself can be risky and is also fairly pointless. Even if you back up to a computer and remove the old stuff off the phone makes more sense then keeping hundreds of photos and videos on there when they can also often be found on your social media accounts anyway.
Oh I agree with that, I meant more the people who just hoard all the photos on the phone forever and never take advantage of the free unlimited storage.I am using it. But when you're out shooting photos and videos left and right, up and down, you can run out of space rather fast if you can't get a reliable internet connection to back things up. This has happened to me during special occasions or white travelling with internet connectivity being unavailable for extended periods.
I keep all photos, videos and music on my SD card. Most everything else is on the local storage. My phone's hard drive is 32 Gig, and about half used up.

I think 64GB is fine for most especially since Google gives you free unlimited storage of photos and videos.
Heck I could probably get by on 16, 32 would be more than enough and 64 is overkill for me.
