I searched but couldnt find here. Im about to reset my 6a, but then found all these articles about pixels being bricked. Google announcement of a work around and that a fix will be issued soon. I cant find any mention of the fix. Google chat was worse then a waste of time. Ive had my 6a a little over a year and it's quirky enough to warrant a reset. Am I safe doing that? Since I got it, it has always been set to dnld the latest updates.

really?

Thank you for linking those , I didn't hear about it because I have other devices like pixel 9 pro xl , Samsung and OnePlus.

Lot of those articles are a year or 8 months ago, I would assume that it got fixed by now, No?

To the OP: it seems like some of your posts are getting a bit snarky. There's no need for that. We are trying to help.

Your first link shows this:

Looks like this should have been fixed over a year ago with a software update.

yes it does, but with no mention of that anywhere...

on an educated assumption, yes, I would.
that could be an expensive guess

most of these brick reports are v14, but I see some for v15 and v16. v16 is pretty new, so my educated guess is google aint fixed it yet. Too bad the support agents only try to confuse the issue

My suggestion is to back up important things in multiple places while you can and get another device then you can try resetting it to see if it helps or bricks

First, stop being a (Mod redacted)-whistle to people who are trying to help you, you- the one with the problem. You are owed nothing and are a guest here. Next stop posting one after another. Edit your previous and respond reply after someone posts. It's amazing anyone has helped you so far.

That aside, let's focus on your issue;

The 6a has battery issues. So far it's gone as far as catching on fire. It's a known issue by Google. They tried pushing a firmware fix which may have been what messed up yours.

Backup everything, factory reset and see if it's fixed. If not, contact Google directly with all your findings and issues and see if they can help.

If not, find a reputable repair shop that can replace the battery as a fix until you get a new phone from a different brand.
