Had Anyone been able to use the 6P on Verizon? Experience? Want to upgrade from my Verizon Droid Turbo to a better phone and based on my old Nexus 7 tablet I want more Nexus

I've been using it on Verizon for a few weeks without issue but did just recently notice I cannot use voice and data at the same time which definitely sucks.

I'm on Verizon and you can use voice and data at the same time as long as you are using VoLTE, it doesn't work if you are using CDMA. I had to specifically enable HD Voice, to enable it goto the manage features section of the Verizon Mobile app and enable it under advanced calling.

I am using it with Voice and Data. You need to enable that option (free) on your account, Enhanced LTE or something, call them and ask them to enable it or log into your online account. Once you have it enabled on Verzions side, go to Settings -> Cellular network and turn on "Enahnced 4G LTE Mode".

Thank you both for that information..... Just another question.... Does Verizon charge for this feature and/or does it change your plan or grandfathered features in any way?
Thanks again

No charge. Also, if you re talking Verizon to Verizon and both have Advanced Calling activated and working, the call goes into HD mode and the call quality is amazing.

Has been great for the most part. Only issue I have been experiencing is MMS not working consistently. I went almost a week without being able to send a group message or picture message.

Rebooting the phone fixed it. It's just annoying if that's going happen consistently.

Enhanced calling or volte is my issue of people not hearing me very well. I don't have a strong 4G signal in my house. Turned it off called them back without any issues.

Been using my 6P on Verizon since Nov 2nd.

My 6p is on Verizon. Popped in my SIM with no problems since day 1. I can be on a call and use the Internet...

My only issue is I don't know how I can set up a voicemail without having to call *86 and getting scrambled text messages when I get/delete voicemails

I'm using mine with Verizon too. I have unlimited data and my wireless tethering works out of the box no root which is nice. I never put any Verizon garbage on my phone though so I won't use any of that volte / Verizon Mobile junk

Some people say they've been able to get these weird messages to stop if they disable the advanced voicemail features on their account.

I don't have this issue because I forward all unanswered calls to my Google Voice number and use Google Voice for visual voicemail.

my $.02

My 6p has been great on Verizon with a few exceptions. If you need a nano Sim, don't go into the local Verizon store. This was a nightmare (i.e. phone is not auth on our network, you could be a terrorist, etc, etc) and ultimately I ended up walking. Called customer support and they were amazing and overnighted me a new Nano Sim and waived the $5.99 fee.

In the meantime, I just cut my micro sim with scissors and it worked mostly perfectly. Look online, plenty of templates/vids. No skills necessary.

As others said, make sure you enable Advanced calling in your VZW account so you can use voice and data at same time. It's 100% free and does not in any way alter the grand fathered Unlimited Data plans. Call quality was surprisingly even better than before and the 6p was amazing out of the box. No noticeable impact to reception or battery life on my end. You do not have to download any VZW bloat to do this. Just sign into your VZW account and add the option.

I was also getting garbled text messages from VZW when someone would leave a voice message. Just to rule out the sim, I swapped my micro with the new Nano when it showed up and I no longer receive those text messages. I now forward missed calls to a 3rd party VVM service and that also helps.

Follow these steps (more or less) and you have nothing to worry about. The 6p is hands down the best phone of 2015, so don't wait any longer!

Could one of you post your APN settings? I'm having an issue with voice sounding distored. MMS, LTE everything else works great. Only voice is the issue.

Thanks in advance

I'm using mine in Verizon without issues as well. As for voicemail. I just forwarded my calls to my Google voice number. Now I have free visual voicemail as well. People call my Verizon number and when a voicemail I received I can get it through the standard phone app. I couldn't be happier with this phone so far.

That was not my experience at all in the Verizon store. The Verizon rep was carrying a Nexus 6 and was really excited to see the 6P. They had a little trouble enabling the phone but they got it done, took an extra 5 minutes over a phones that they sell.
