6T has usb-C 2.0

Disappointing but not surprising.

My guess is that the main reason they keep doing this is because if it was a proper USB 3.1 port, they'd have to support USB-PD.

USB-PD? It stands for Universal Serial Bus Power Delivery. It's the standardised quick charging method from the USB standards commission or whatever they're called, used by phones like the pixels as well as a lot of newer laptops and stuff.
