I bought the 8.0 a few days ago and it is still unopened in the box. Wondering if I should have got the 9.7 since there is only a $50 difference in price this week. To me, the 8.0 is easier to handle overall and obviously lighter than the bigger screen, but it may be better to have the larger screen for a better viewing experience.
Anybody have any regrets either way on their screen size choice?

Depends on what you are viewing and how you'll be using it. I have the 8" S2 and 9.7" iPad Air 2. The S2 is nice and handy to hold for reading ebooks and email and is good for some games but the larger tablet is better for watching video and using a web browser. The 8" is good for one-handed use, the 9.7" not so much so. The 8" is more convenient to take out and about and can fit in a large coat pocket. I'm really happy that I have both but if I had to drop one it would be the 8".

You hit on a lot of my things on both sides. The 8.0 is definitely easier to handle. However the price on the 9.7 came down to $279 at Best Buy today. I believe it is part of their black Friday sale.

I find sizes above 8" unmanageable. I had that 8.4" older model and it was barely manageable. Too wide. You can fit an 8" model in your pocket if you must but the one about 10" is kind of a desktop model, not easy to carry with you.

I would get a 7" if they made a model with the same resolution as the 8" model.
