8.1 Beta begins rolling out over OTA

I'm curious if you've updated yet, and what your experience is?

Also, does anyone know how to get the new beta if you don't have the old beta installed?

Yes, just picked up the OTA update (was on 8.0 beta 3) which was a nice surprise because I have a Telus device and I didn't have to do anything special (such as remove sim etc). Buttery smooth and fast so far. Maybe it's just me but it seems certain apps are opening a little quicker than before. Navigation icons got a tad smaller. So far so good. Well done Essential!

Can also report Bluetooth is picking up recognized devices faster. Device also finding current location quicker using 'device only ' location setting. Video calling and visual voicemail have been enabled in Phone options.

Lastly...this probably has more to do with the latest camera update, but picture taking is greatly improved! Almost no lag between picture snaps, even in a relatively dark room.

Just updated. Everything is really smooth. Haven't noticed any issues. If you aren't already on beta you can get 8.1 beta 1 from Essential and sideload it from a computer with ADB. All the instructions are included.

Quick settings is transparent, power menu is redesigned and we now have BT battery level.

Edit: Also noticed navbar buttons go from dark to light after few seconds of inactivity. Must be a stock 8.1 feature to prevent burn in with AMOLED screens.
