8GB Nexus 7 No Longer Available in Play Store

Probably to be discontinued in a few short days, and they don't want to have to pay for shipping to exchange them for 16GB units next week. ;)

They're going to be discontinuing the 8GB version so not taking any more orders for it, most likely.

Probably don't want to deal with a huge influx of returns when people want to trade it out for a 16GB for the same price next week.

I thought I wouldn't have any problems with the 8Gb version and then after I loaded a couple of big games on there......yeah I need more space :(

Good riddance, the 8gb model should have never been created. At this day and age 8gb is simply unusable.

Eh, I'm alright with the 8GB model. I keep the Nexus 7 at the house, though. But, I agree that it should have just been 16GB and 32GB from the beginning.

Only if you don't know how to use USB OTG. Paying 50 dollars for 8GB storage is just plain silly.

I agree 8gb is just too small for any device these days. It reminds me of my old HTC Desire. I would run out of space for apps after my Facebook data would fill up. And I would only have 5 apps installed.

Is it? 8GB seems fine for a lot of people. Especially if these sit at home, connected to the cloud.

They discontinued the device after 3 months. How is Google going to compensate the people who bought an 8GB Nexus 7 that expired quicker than yogurt? :D :D

They are not, when you buy any technology you should expect it to be outdated very fast. I know with certain phones and now tablets people expect it to be renewed just once a year. But look at PCs, TVs etc... and they are old by the time you get them out the door. Pertty much should expect that with any technology now days.

Just heard the 16 gb Nexus dropped in price in Australia by $50.
