Not exactly sure where to post this.

Have 8T on VZW and 8T on Tmobile. Only VZW 8T is having this issue.

A couple weeks ago any shortcut to a site I added to my home screen from chrome suddenly said "app not installed". Then after a restart the shortcuts were gone. I could still go to a specific site through Chrome but the links were gone.

Also shortcuts from phone book I put there for quick access would disappear. The contacts are still in address book but all shortcuts gone.

I can add them back but any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

We've been seeing this mentioned from time to time. I've seen it happen a couple of times on my Pixel 3 XL (with Direct Dial widgets), typically after a system update. I'm not sure what it was about that particular update -- maybe it tweaked something in the launcher API responsible for those widgets. Did your issue happen right after an update?

Yes I did update last week. I use Nova as launcher so I have no idea.

I also wondered if it was some VZW issue since it does not happen to my work phone on Tmobile.

I use Nova as well, and noticed the Direct Dial widgets disappeared from both the Pixel Launcher and Nova Launcher screens.

Is your T-Mobile phone on an actual work account? If so, maybe it has some kind of mobile device management software that's preventing the issue from occurring (or perhaps that phone hadn't been updated yet).

Yes the Tmobile is a work line. It's updated the same as the VZW line.

I disabled/or deletled all the work management apps so I don't feel that's causing it.

Hey thanks for the replies. I appreciate it.

Hmm, not sure why there would be a difference, but if those phones were both bought directly from the respective carriers, they might have slightly different firmware, such that the issue is only affecting one of them. When it happened to my phone, I just sighed and re-created my folder full of Direct Dial widgets (I only have 9 of them, so not a big deal).:-\

You are not alone, OnePlus released a recent update that broke the direct dial widgets in some devices.

Is your T-Mobile phone a branded device? If so, branded devices receive different system updates, straight from the carrier. Unlocked/Global devices get updates directly from OnePlus.

There's an easy way to see what I mean. Go to system - about phone, see the Build number on both phones and post those numbers here.

I purchased both devices directly from oneplus.
That problem didn't happen to all users and it's not clear why those widgets disappeared. In my case, with the OP 7 and Nova, it didn't happen and I know owners of the same phone that had your same issue. Maybe different ways to add the widgets, maybe some personal configuration or maybe just luck. Who knows.

Honestly don't have a clue if it's beta or not. Its Nova prime (paid version). Not sure if that's answering your question or not.
It happened with Nova 6 (estable) and 7 (beta). I've seen this problem reported in Nova Discord server.

Different version number than yours.

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.
