91 percent battery life last night, dead in morning

I have no idea why my phone was dead this morning, background data was off too???

Honestly... This happens way too commonly in android.. It's one of my severe dislikes about the operating system.

That usually happens when an app doesn't shut down or continues to run in the background.

Install Spare Parts. Go to "Battery History" then go to "Other Usage" It shouldn't be running when the screen is off unless you have an IM service or something running when it's off.

If you go to "Partial Wake Usage" you can see which apps are preventing your phone from sleeping when the screen is off.

This is a huge problem with Android and my battery will randomly drain a lot of the time as well. There isn't really anything you can do except pay attention to your app usage and stuff like that.

This used to happen to me on a stock or nearly stock system. It is possible to fix this with a custom ROM - leaving my phone on overnight I now get only about a 2% battery drain.

Of course if you don't want to root, you can either leave your phone plugged in overnight or just shut it off while you sleep.

Ive been doing it since day one back 3-4 months ago.. Every night on the charger regardless if its at 10% or 90%....

Battery is perfectly fine.
